The past month has been a whirlwind of events for many of us in the fashion blogger community. From fashion weeks to awards shows it seems that February is the month in which we collectively get dolled up and put on our best smile for cameras. Even in St Andrews social calendars are booked every week for charity fashion shows and balls.
I personally revel in the getting ready process. What can I say I’m a child of glamour and any opportunity to primp is taken gleefully. So last Saturday I put on Nina Simone, wrapped myself up in my blush dressing gown and sang along to Feeling Good. Everything starts with skincare in my book so a facemask was a must (I always feel like Mia from the Princess Diaries at this point). A rich moisturizer and eye cream followed to keep my skin hydrated and glowing throughout the night. As much as I adore a fancy cocktail, alcohol is not my skin’s best friend. For this particular occasion I chose a fitted black mini dress with gorgeous beading around the open back. So up my hair went into a sleek tail. To frame my face, gold and black chandelier earrings swung merrily from my lobes. A classic black cateye and a red lip completed the look. Spritzed some perfume, put on my heels, grabbed my wallet and I headed out the door. Camera and dancefloor ready!
