Bastille Day

The Eiffel Tower, dazzling in the light of countless fireworks, the chicest patriotic outfits on the street, baguettes, cheese and rosé: It’s Bastille Day in Paris!

Experiencing a country’s national holiday opens a unique window into its culture- in Paris there was a heady excitement thrumming through the streets. Walking through the crowds picnicking on the hill behind the Trocadero, I saw people from every walk of life. Families, young couples all celebrating their beloved country. As a newcomer to France, being part of the celebrations left me with a sense of wonder. From the Marseillaise winding it’s song through the city, to toasting France and watching fireworks from the oh so Parisian balconies- merci beaucoup for letting me be apart of this celebration xx
