Double breasted, gray check and oversized meets the black miniskirt: my take on the hottest trend this fall.
A great suit jacket is a confidence boost in a piece of clothing. This season the classic patterns of our father’s and grandfather’s generations are reigning supreme. Given the multiple times I borrowed bow ties from my Dad growing up (with his permission as he was the one who tied them for me), you could say that I was excited for this trend. I chose gray check from Zara as I found it the easiest to style and most versatile. The age old question returns- how to wear menswear while still appearing feminine? To this I turned to the best friend of all pretty young things since it first rocked the fashion boat in the 1960s: the miniskirt. There’s something so appealing about the contrast of the oversized fit of the blazer and mile long legs effect of a mini. Instantly you walk a little more swing in your step, channeling the ingénue allure that Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy made famous. For a bit of feminine fun I added oversized pearl drops; costume jewelry, due to my tendency to fiddle with my earrings, but nonetheless fabulous. Dancing on the line between feminine and masculine in one look, ready to flit from art museums & sidewalk cafes to rendezvous and lecture halls.

This look is so good! Blazers don’t suit me but I might have to pair it with a mini skirt the way you have here. Thanks for the inspiration, love. 🙂

Thanks Astrid- so glad you enjoyed the post and I find that most any jacket paired with a mini skirt or mini dress is foolproof! xx
