Donned for outdoor concerts and barbecues alike, the graphic t-shirt is as emblematic of summer as melted ice cream cones and tan lines. Although we tend to trade in cotton for knitwear as the year moves on, today I’m showing you babes my top ways to style a cool t-shirt year round.
I adore this “Femme Fatale” t-shirt from Ba&sh, & as with all graphic t-shirts part of the appeal is showing off the saying. Over the weekend we had a quintessential fall day, windy and sunny. So I styled it with black pleated culottes, a skirt has the same effect, an oversized denim jacket and black Chelsea boots. This look kept me comfortable both on the streets and in cozy cafes and kept with the indie rock vibe of a graphic t-shirt. Even though some of the saying was hidden behind my jacket, the red lettering still drew attention and I reinforced the idea with my Fendi Roma slogan tote. A graphic t-shirt in cold weather months is about a more subtler statement than in summer. It is showing glimpses of the design from behind your vest, jacket or coat. Some of my other favorite ways to style a graphic t shirt include: as a tunic with leggings, trainers & a leather jacket, or playing with opposites by wearing it with a blazer, cigarette trousers & heels. On truly cold days, a fur or faux fur topper creates both glamour and attitude. So you truly can wear it in any season- no more excuses to leave your band and slogan t-shirts languishing in a drawer. In my opinion it’s nearly always a good time for a classic graphic t.
