Cozy knits, luxurious velvet and sleek leather: today’s post is all about the chic gal’s guide to mixing fabrics.
One of the best things about winter wardrobes is the variety. Furs, wool, leather, velvet, tweed, suede, corduroy join the usual mix. To make the most out of my seasonal pieces, I create as many outfit combinations as possible. I use a few guidelines when styling multiple textures. The first is to use contrasting silhouettes to create proportion. I also make sure to stick with a general palette, and choose one accent color or pattern to pop. For today’s look, I chose my black vegan leather midi skirt, for its classic silhouette and chic edge. Wanting some balance, I added a thick gray cowl neck jumper, which contrasted with the fitted skirt. This makes a leather midi more accessible for day wear. To add a bit of glamour, I brought out my seasonal shoes, burgundy velvet slippers. Anytime you creatively style an outfit, it should be something you feel good in and are excited to wear. After all we’re entering the season of romance and revelry, so love your look and be fabulous!
