Blankets of leaves underfoot and a definite chill in the air, we are nearing end of October but if you’re like me you’re not quite ready to give up high hemlines. I adore a good mini skirt and refuse to waste a single moment of my twenties that I could be wearing one. But it’s not quite the same effect when you’ve had to shimmy your way into tights that make your thighs feel like sausages. So, I’ve curated a collection of outfits you can wear long into the colder season, without giving up high hemlines. Layer thick fabrics as I did with this burgundy corduroy skirt and long tweed blazer. Embody the Friends revival and channel Rachel’s iconic tartan skirt, turtleneck, over the knee sock combo. Tall boots help stave off goosebumps, pair with a peter pan collared dress. For additional warmth nothing is so chic as a short-belted trench coat- collar turned up and legs out. High hemlines, hips swaying and you’re on your way.

I love this look. I’m so inspired to get a tweed blazer now!
